My role is Member Services Director, a new role combining two previous positions: Administrator and Webmaster. I am now managing membership services, our website, our online store and email. My role is to implement the vision of the TLCA Board of Directors and help make TLCA viable for the 21st century economy, while maintaining the traditional things about TLCA that everyone loves. The first big change coming your way will be improvements in the management of your membership. We'll be moving away from processing every membership manually and transitioning to an online member site. It will be a huge benefit to members and the TLCA organization. Look for these changes by mid-2015--hopefully earlier. Additional upcoming changes will include the following. TLCA Board of Directors to deliver Toyota Trails in an electronic version. Don't panic! Please be assured, we are not planning to eliminate the printed version of Toyota Trails anytime soon. This new version is an enhancement to the TLCA offering and anoth- er tool to help us recruit new members. As I write this, we are in the process of closing down our web store. I've received numerous emails from members declaring, chandise go away!" I can promise you that merchandise is not going away forever but it will be going dormant for a while. The Board of Directors determined that the current web store model was actually a net loss to the organization--unfortunately, we were losing money on every back issue of Toyota Trails and t-shirts that we sold. We didn't sell enough merchandise and back issues to pay for the storage. Going forward, we plan to have the most recent issues from the last two years for sale but no more. And we plan to offer cool schwag and merchandise again in the future in a new, profitable model. Stay tuned! Our website will be changing. Members will be able to renew online, have instant access to their membership information, update information online, download Toyota Trails PDFs and more. You will see exciting changes soon. Over the last few months, I've implemented a campaign to recruit former members who haven't renewedsome for quite a while. The happy result is that we're seeing members re-join who expired as far back as 2008. If you are one of those people, welcome back to TLCA! We're glad to see you again. For current members, I've implemented an email reminder program to help prompt you to renew your membership when it's about to expire. (Note: if your membership is about reminder soon!) I'm primarily a website developer. My main job is to build and manage web- sites and ecommerce sites for small and medium-size businesses. I live in Centennial, Colorado, with my awe- some husband Matt Farr (longtime TLCA member and former Webmaster), our two genius-level kids (at least I think so), one scruffy, irritable dog and three (yes, three) stupid cats. When not working on websites and TLCA, you might find me running a half marathon, riding as Matt's co-pilot on a run with the Rising Sun, leading a Girl Scout or Cub Scout meeting, or skiing powder on the leg- endary Colorado slopes. I look forward to getting to know you all and I welcome your thoughts, comments and insights. Please don't be a stranger. Let me know how I can better assist you or your local chapter to make TLCA a better club for you!
