I use CRC Sta-Plex Extreme Pressure Premium Red for knuckles/general
purpose lube; got it from NAPA in a 35lb bucket for about $25, or about
8-10% of what you'd pay for the 14oz cartridges. Even the NAPA guy
couldn't believe the cost difference.
The tub works better for loading bearings and knuckles, and I just keep
reloading the same greasegun cartridge for zerc applications.

I've ordered the parts from Marlin for my '79 Toy Mini knuckle rebuild
and now need to make sure I get my hands on the correct wheel bearing
grease and 90 weight (and any other lubes necessary for the job).
Given that the vehicle is 30 years old and lube/gear oil has changed
dramatically in that time, are there new formulations for the greases
and gear oil I should be using, or should I just go with the standard
specs as published in the Haynes book for the '79 Mini?
What is the recommendation from listers?
