Frank:
I would gamble a bit first before I dropped a pile of money in it. If you are not going to be using it more than runs to the beach I would first try to lubricate it better. I know this sounds silly but I have had toyota transmissions that would not go into first gear or would pop out of 5th or 4th at highway speeds that worked like new after a few weeks of driving around with Redline MTL synthetic manual transmission oil. The stuff is magic. It is all I use now after my brother told me it was all they use in their race transmissions.
If it works you will get a few years of driving out of it, if it doesn't you will be out the $16 a quart the stuff costs.
