I have just used emery cloth to clean up the surface that the pilot bearing runs on. Are you sure you need to tear into the tranny for this?

Does anyone have experience with Specter's "rebuilt" units? I can get one with a large idler transfer case and a manual transfer shifter for 3Gs.

This brings me to the question of rebuild kits. Who and where do I find reasonably priced ones that have japanese bearings?
