[LCML] FJ60 Intermittent Stall at Idle

Jeff,

A few suggestions:

1. I would still take a can of brake cleaner, etc.. and when it is idleing
fine - spray around and listen for idle changes. FJ60's have a mess of
vacuum lines and there could potentially be a vacuum leak somewhere in that
mess, or even at a fitting somewhere.

2. I just had the same symptoms on my 78 FJ40 and when I pulled the top of
the carb off, the "BB" at the bottom of the accelerator pump hole was
corroded solid. I know that's a pain to check - but I'd check it.

3. Could the "HEET" have possibly broken loose some gunk and your fuel
filter/screen at the inlet line on the carb/jets, etc.. have debri in them?

4. Hotter days now causing vapor lock?

5. Fuel cap not venting causing vacuum on the gas tank?

Just some thoughts,

dallas (ragman)
