Hi All:

As the recent thread discussion has shown, everybody has a story to share about a locking differential problem/failure.

Like Wayne (Crushers) wrote, "different strokes for different folks."

I like the "budget-locs" like the Lockrite/Aussie Locker because they are inexpensive and easy to install. These devices hold-up well in Land Cruiser axles because of how beefy the Toyota axles are. I would not recommend a "budget-loc" in a Jeep running a Dana 35, since this axle is marginal at best. If one was beefing-up the Dana 35 axle, a locker with a full-case replacement like the ARB Air Locker, Detroit Locker, etc. should be part of the build.

Obviously, an auto locker can have adverse affects on the street/highway, but I have found these "quirks" manageable.

Regards,

Alan
