Subject: [LCML] Heater Control Valve?

Hi All:

Anyone very knowledgeable about the heater control valve in a 11/1973 FJ40.

The one in mine does not seem to allow much coolant flow.  How much flow should this valve allow?

I looked at buying a new one but they cost US$100!  (SOR & CCOT.)

Thanks.

I wonder if the scale obstructing the flow could be removed with white vinegar (think of your coffee pot cleaning) or muratic acid to restore flow through the heater valve?
