I just take any slack out, but be sure not to preload it. Too much slack
and the tranny will not downshift readily. This is a common cause of
complaints of sluggish performance in the '62s and (FJ)80s. Too tight
and the tranny will shift hard. Especially on partial throttle lets offs
when it upshifts as you decrease the load on the engine.
