Yes, definitely worth it if you folks aer still happy with this truck.
As has been mentioned, a re-build on the 2F can be quite expensive. A good used engine might be available, but you'll have to browse on Craigslist, IH8Mud, etc. to find one. I'd suggest looking for a running, rust-bucket FJ60 to use as a donor. With a running vehicle you can compression test the potential donor engine to see if it is worth the trouble.
