Tom Lee says: “I am a new member of TLCA and wanted to send a few pictures for submission of my FJ Cruiser. This is a recent purchase from my friends at Cruiser Solutions. This was their project vehicle and can be seen and spec’d via their website. The pic’s are from a short trek along Calfkiller River located just off Hwy 84 in England Cove which is between Sparta and Monterey, TN.” Tom also mentions that he is considering starting a local TLCA chapter in the future.

This just in from Toyota:

“Driving to the event we saw FJs everywhere,” Maureen Turner noted when 400 wheelers sat down to BBQ and swapped their boulder stories at the inaugural FJ Summit in Ouray, Colorado. Find out why it was a great week to be an FJ Cruiser owner.

Memories of Allen Sabourin

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

We received this from Cheryl Sabourin:

I was wondering if there are any members that would remember my dad, Allen Sabourin. I have attached a copy of the issue of “Toyota Trails” that Ed Maikisch wrote an “In Memory Of” article, and the page that my dad’s advertisement was on (Ottawa Valley 4×4).

For any members still around that were friends of my dad, I also included a letter that he saved from 1978 that says it ALL about the kind of extraordinary person my dad was. The date of his passing just passed and got me thinking about how great he was and how much I miss him. I wish he could have met my husband and children, and it really helps to know there are people who remember what a terrific guy he was. He loved this organization and LOVED his Land Cruisers. I was supposed to go with him to “The Great Smokey Mountain Trail Ride,” but obviously, he was in no shape to attend. Thanks so much for your time.
