Last year’s TLCA secretary, Kowboy, often talked about “par-tic-i-pa-tion” in TLCA events. Now there’s a shirt honoring those who do participate. The back of the shirt says “See y’all in camp. –Kowboy.” It’s a pretty cool shirt.

Tread Lightly! just announced the release of a new print ad campaign called Ride Hard, Tread Lightly.
The campaign, which focuses on all kinds of motorized outdoor recreation, was conceived after surveys reported that one of the top reasons people stray from the trail is because they think their ride will be “more challenging and more fun.”
Ride Hard, Tread Lightly tries to change the perception that environmentally-sensitive riding isn’t fun. “Being responsible doesn’t mean being boring,” says the organization. “Just use common sense and simple outdoor ethics to keep your riding areas beautiful, healthy and open.”
The PSAs also encourage specific behavior, such as staying on the trail (see ad), using a map on every ride and washing vehicles to avoid spreading invasive species.
